1. Who this is for
Venture funds, family offices and other small investment teams where a few people carry a lot of operating work. If your partners and analysts spend their weeks on screening decks, reformatting memos, chasing portfolio updates and assembling LP reports, most of that can be handed to software now.
The aim is not to replace judgement. It is to give your team back the hours they spend on work that only needs to be done carefully, not decided.
2. What I automate
Every firm is different, so the first step is finding where your time actually goes. Typical candidates:
| Area | What the agents do | What stays with you |
|---|---|---|
| Deal flow | Read inbound decks and emails, log them in your CRM, score them against your thesis, flag the ones worth a call | Who you meet |
| Memos and diligence | Gather market, company and founder research; draft the first version of an investment memo in your format | The view and the decision |
| Portfolio monitoring | Request and collect founder updates, pull out the metrics, track them over time, flag changes | What to do about them |
| LP and board reporting | Assemble quarterly reports and capital-account summaries from your existing data | Review and sign-off |
| Research and briefings | Sector scans, meeting prep, news on portfolio companies and markets you follow | What you act on |
| Back office | Inbox triage, scheduling, document handling and follow-ups | Anything that commits the firm |
3. How an engagement runs
- Audit. I spend time with your team, map where the hours go, and come back with a short list of what to automate first, ranked by time saved and risk.
- Build. I build those workflows on your accounts and tools, test them on real work alongside your team, and adjust until they hold up.
- Hand over or run. You keep everything I build. I can document it and hand it to your team, or keep running and extending it on a retainer.
4. Your data and confidentiality
Investment firms hold sensitive information about founders, deals and LPs. I treat that as the main design constraint, not an afterthought:
- Systems run on your accounts, with access limited to what each workflow needs.
- A person approves anything that leaves the firm: emails, reports, messages to founders or LPs.
- Actions are logged, so you can see what an agent did and why.
- I work under NDA and a written services agreement.
5. Why me
I’m an engineer who has spent years in finance. I’ve written financial systems, including derivatives and options, and I build cross-border settlement infrastructure at Rift. I also build AI agents for my own work: my operations agent runs my inbox, research and follow-ups across several companies, and I connect agents like it to Claude and ChatGPT as MCP servers. You’ll be working with the person who builds the system, not a slide deck.
Work with me
Tell me about your firm and where the time goes. I read every response and reply within 2 working days. If there’s a fit, we start with the audit.
